Shanna Early

Welcome!

Welcome to my page! My name is Shanna Early, and I hold bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from Abilene Christian University, a master’s degree in Irish Culture and Literature from Boston College, and a PhD in English from Emory University, focusing on 20th century and contemporary British, Irish, and Postcolonial literature, along with theories of place, space and environment. My current book project–based on my dissertation, “Gathering Places: Place as Archive in Irish, Indian, and Caribbean Literature”– explores how authors represent places as natural archives of both human and natural history. My other academic interests include theory, archives, rhetoric and composition, pedagogy, children’s and young adult literature, science fiction and fantasy literature, and comic books.
